First Day of School!

Aug. 11th, Landon's first big day of school!!!! My big Kindergartener!!! Of course, as he always has been in life, he is eager as can be to take off into the world, and Mommy is left running after him, not wanting to let go! Libby is his biggest little fan, along with Delaney, except that she can't run yet!

Little Fishermen Three

Since we talked about fishing and got ready for fishing more than we got to go fishing, I told the kids we would go somewhere where they would really catch a fish! As promised, we went to a Trout Farm near our house and were not dissapointed (well, all except for the going price of trout!)! Within 30 minutes, we had three beautiful Rainbow Trout, and seven pounds of fish for dinner! It was great fun watching the kids and their different reactions. Landon is amazing at casting the line and reeling in the fish, and Libby is awesome at helping bring them in and inspecting them! We couldn't get Libby to get away from the fish, and couldn't get Landon to get close enough! He's not so excited about the wiggly slimy fish at the end of the line. *Note the teddy bear in the car seat next to the middle little fisherwoman, and how the bigger fisherman isn't taking his eyes off of the fish! ;)

A Visit from the Tooth Fairy!

Well, I was very glad we came home from camping when we did, because that day Landon lost his first tooth!!! I told him to go brush his teeth when we got home, and I always check them when he's done, and low and behold, there was a hole in his mouth!!! It was there in the sink, covered in toothpaste! We put it in a little plastic baggie for the Tooth Fairy, and she left him one whole Dollar! He was sooo excited to be such a big boy, loosing the first tooth that he got as a baby, but of course Mommy had a lot more growing pains in her heart! :(

The Great Outdoors

As most of you know, we decided to go camping this year for vacation. We went to Stone Mountain, because I didn't want the hassle of going anywhere too far away. Well, it sounds better than it turned out to be! Between the down-pouring rain, and the swarming bees (Libby got stung twice, and I got it once in two days), the highlight was the canoeing on the lake. I absolutely loved the chance to take the big kids out and explore a little and see what we might catch.

Landon and I ended up catching 3 small little pan-sized perch. Cute, not cuisine. We enjoyed ourselves enough the week before on our trip up to Chatanooga, TN that we decided to call it good and pack up until better weather came our way and blew away the bees. Here are some pics of our trip to Chatanooga:

We really enjoyed going to Ruby Falls, which is a large underground waterfall, and also the Children's Museum. The picture of the donkey formation is for you, Dad! Libby wasn't so sure of it at first, as you can see, but all it took was the first time we came upon stairs! It was funny that just that little bit of familiarity was all it took for her to relax and enjoy it.

Catch-up!

All right, I know it's been a long time! I'm making up for it though. There are a lot of videos here to catch you all up. They pretty much speak for themselves. Enjoy!

Landon's 5th Birthday

I was nursing Delaney and Libby and I were visiting away. She cracks me up and I had to grab the camera.

Conversation with Libby

Landon was very excited about his Pre-K graduation, but when he got up on the stage, he got very nervous. Here are some clips.

Landons pre K Graduation

Dodie recently came to visit, and we took a trip to the Museum of Natural History. It was so fun! They had life sized replicas of a Long Neck and a T-Rex which Landon absolutely loved, of course! They also had a special exhibit of Polar Bears and Penguins. We had a great time!

Here are my little penguins:

Kids Playing Together

This is why they make playpens! To keep the babies safe from the older kids! Amazingly, Delaney loves the attention she gets from her big brother and sister. She laughs and laughs as I cringe and keep reminding the big kids to be careful!

Hope you enjoyed our little delights. They are the light of our lives!
Love to you all, and keep in touch.

The Sweetest Things

Just a note about some of the sweetest things in life. Especially as Mothers Day approaches, I have been thinking about the kind of mother I want to be for my kids, and making an extra effort to be that for them. Well, Libby has definately been helping my cause by the things she has been saying lately. As some good friends just said this weekend, we have some very verbal kids! :) Saturday when we were all in the car, she told Seth and I, "Mommy, Daddy, I love being your daughter." And then today as I was working in the yard and she was close by as always, she said to me, "Mommy, you are gorgeous. You are a genius, too." How can you not want to be just that when a two year tells you that?! My kids sure help me to be the kind of mother, and a woman, that I want to be, and that is just one of the reasons that I love them so much.

Happy Mother's Day to all of you unique and wonderful women!
