Well, Landon is still talking about me having another baby. He really wants a brother so badly, although if you ask him, he wouldn't trade either of his sisters in for anything . . . well, at least most days ;). He is sooo good with them and is such a natural in his role of Big Brother. He brought Libby a love note home from school that he had made for her today. It's nice that that hasn't changed since last year. That file is pretty thick! He thinks having four kids would be perfect and he just has to have a brother (He still says to help him take care of his two little sisters and to wrestle)! I'm going to have to get him involved in the Big Brother program to adopt a little brother as soon as he's old enough. It never occurred to him until tonight when I said, "Landon, there's no guarantee that if I had another baby, that it would be a boy. It could be another sister!" You should have seen the surprise on his face!
Later, as I was getting them to bed, them meaning all 3 kids (Seth is out of town), and we were in Landon's room on the floor, Landon and Libby were playing and then started to argue. I said, hold on guys, you are teaching Delaney how to argue. Do you want her to grow up and argue with you, too? Landon says, "No, how about if she only argues with Libby?" Then I explained that it didn't work that way. She would argue with him, too. I asked him if he didn't want her to be that way, how did he want to her to be? Without pause, he tells me, "I want her to be like Libby." WOW.
Speaking of dreams, I have the perfect secret weapon for bouncy litte girls who have a hard time settling down long enough to go to sleep. What I do is have Libby lay down on her bed and put little appliques on her toe and finger nails and then put a clear coat of nail polish over them and then remind her that she has to hold very, very still so that they will dry and not get on anything. Of course, we have done this during the day many times before so she understands, and so as not to risk any bedding! This is one of her all-time favorite things that we do together, and she loves pretty nails! Anyway, she lies there like a cut-out doll and DOESN'T WIGGLE for anything! I checked on her a little bit later, and she would only move her eyeballs to look at me out of the corners to ask me to tuck her in. I spread a blanket over her but left her feet out, and lay her stiff little arms out of top. She is so serious about it, that she asked me as I was leaving if it was O.K. to adjust her hand. She moved it so little that I couldn't even tell she had moved it at all! Needless to say, I was grinning from the inside out as I left her room. She also asked me if they would be dry in the morning when the sun came up so she could get out of bed then. Perfect!

A Busy Social Calendar

Ever wonder what I do during the day when Landon's in school? Well, I would have you know that I have a very busy and impressive social schedule. One of my fellow socialites is my three year old little girl. We enjoy many pressing engagements, for example, on top of today's agenda would be the exquisite birthday party we had for 'Kenzie,' Libby's illustrious dollie. We dined on Birthday Cupcakes, (Mini Reese's Peanut Butter Cup, add candle), and a delightful mix of jellied fruits (layman terms: Welch's Fruit Snacks).

First Day of School!

Aug. 11th, Landon's first big day of school!!!! My big Kindergartener!!! Of course, as he always has been in life, he is eager as can be to take off into the world, and Mommy is left running after him, not wanting to let go! Libby is his biggest little fan, along with Delaney, except that she can't run yet!
Little Fishermen Three

Since we talked about fishing and got ready for fishing more than we got to go fishing, I told the kids we would go somewhere where they would really catch a fish! As promised, we went to a Trout Farm near our house and were not dissapointed (well, all except for the going price of trout!)! Within 30 minutes, we had three beautiful Rainbow Trout, and seven pounds of fish for dinner! It was great fun watching the kids and their different reactions. Landon is amazing at casting the line and reeling in the fish, and Libby is awesome at helping bring them in and inspecting them! We couldn't get Libby to get away from the fish, and couldn't get Landon to get close enough! He's not so excited about the wiggly slimy fish at the end of the line. *Note the teddy bear in the car seat next to the middle little fisherwoman, and how the bigger fisherman isn't taking his eyes off of the fish! ;)
A Visit from the Tooth Fairy!

Well, I was very glad we came home from camping when we did, because that day Landon lost his first tooth!!! I told him to go brush his teeth when we got home, and I always check them when he's done, and low and behold, there was a hole in his mouth!!! It was there in the sink, covered in toothpaste! We put it in a little plastic baggie for the Tooth Fairy, and she left him one whole Dollar! He was sooo excited to be such a big boy, loosing the first tooth that he got as a baby, but of course Mommy had a lot more growing pains in her heart! :(
The Great Outdoors
As most of you know, we decided to go camping this year for vacation. We went to Stone Mountain, because I didn't want the hassle of going anywhere too far away. Well, it sounds better than it turned out to be! Between the down-pouring rain, and the swarming bees (Libby got stung twice, and I got it once in two days), the highlight was the canoeing on the lake. I absolutely loved the chance to take the big kids out and explore a little and see what we might catch.

Landon and I ended up catching 3 small little pan-sized perch. Cute, not cuisine. We enjoyed ourselves enough the week before on our trip up to Chatanooga, TN that we decided to call it good and pack up until better weather came our way and blew away the bees. Here are some pics of our trip to Chatanooga:

We really enjoyed going to Ruby Falls, which is a large underground waterfall, and also the Children's Museum. The picture of the donkey formation is for you, Dad! Libby wasn't so sure of it at first, as you can see, but all it took was the first time we came upon stairs! It was funny that just that little bit of familiarity was all it took for her to relax and enjoy it.
